The prehistoric era faded into the Roman era with no real fanfare. After the calculations had been done, I found that the Daorsi family were the richest and so became the rulers. I'd been expecting the Albani family to come out on top, but they actually became one of the slave families.
I'm bad about taking pictures, so I don't have much at the moment. Arash Daorsi has been a good Emperor so far. He guides his family and the cilization with a stern, but caring, hand. As he's gotten older though, he's focusing most of his attention on finding a good match for his heir, Albert, and found her in young Cloelia Daorse, Albert's second cousin. She's young yet, but focused on building herself into the perfect future Empress and her father, Leofric, couldn't be more proud.
Meanwhile, the Plebian families have a wedding to prepare of their own. Leontius Cove is to wed Balbina Cave. At the end of the previous era, she gave birth to baby Jovian, the result of the two teens having a quick fling. Leontius was surprised to learn of the babies existence, but he had fallen in love with Balbina so was happy to make the baby legit.
On the other hand, Hilditrut Cava harbors resentment towards her babies daddy, Albert Daorsi. Saturnius was born before the end of the era, but Albert never came to visit. And now that he's to be Emperor while she is just a plebian, he refuses the acknowlege the boy's existance. To add to her troubles, she's a single mother carrying for a bastard child and most potential suitors are uninterested in her as a result. She's been living with her uncle Marianus' family and he's been careful to remind her that she should care lovingly for her son, regardless of how she feels about his father, but Marianus is getting older, and she's not sure she remain terribly attentive to her son after her uncle passes. She's toying with the idea of leaving the child at the gladiator's home in the hopes someone else will raise him so she can move on with her life.
Her cousin Athanasia has a similar issue. She has twin boys of her first husband Calixtus. She'd died before giving birth, but Calixtus in a moment of remorse, resurrected her and sent her home to her brother's home, her parents having long since died. Her memories of the events are still a bit hazy, but she's sort of remembers who the twin's father is and plans to introduce the boys to him in the hope that maybe he'll adopt them. She loves her babies, but she's been feeling very odd since she was brought back and worries she won't be able to give them a good life.
The Taulantii and slave families are much less dramatic. A few pregnancies her and there, but nothing major. Though, Yakaterina Taulanta has been having trouble birthing sons. She so far has five daughters!
With the slaves. the Albani son, Thodotos Albani, was picked to live in the gladiator's house. With only himself living there so far, he'll have plenty of time to train before he has to battle someone to the death.
